This simple water urn will make any water burial ceremony dignified and memorable. Made of sand and a plant-based gel. Designed to float for few minutes, sink and dissolve completely in water, releasing the ashes into the water.
The ashes go into a specifically designed dissolvable bag, that is then placed inside the urn. For the ceremony, place the in the water. The urn will float, then as water starts to fill the urn through small holes at the base. Note – the urn may sink quickly or straight away if there is a large amount of ashes.
Then the combined weight of the water, the urn and the ashes causes the urn to sink slowly under the waves. The urn will breakdown under natural processes, the length of time is variable over a several hours, the exact time will depend on the temperature and the movement and current of the water. The higher the temperature and the greater the movement in water the faster the urn will dissolve.
We supply glue for the lid. Although you can use a moistened cloth.
They are also suitable for land burial as moisture in the soil will help the urn to biodegrade.
