This two person water urn will make any water burial ceremony dignified and memorable. Hand-crafted from non-toxic, food-grade recycled paper it is available in Aqua Blue, Sand, and hand-painted Coral.
The ashes are put into a specifically designed dissolvable bag, that is then placed inside the urn. For the ceremony, the urn is placed in the water. Due to the presence of air within the urn it will float, then as water starts to fill the urn through small holes at the base. Then the combined weight of the water, the urn and the ashes causes the urn to sink slowly under the waves. The urn will breakdown under natural processes, the length of time is variable over a number of hours, the exact time will depend on the temperature and the movement and current of the water. The higher the temperature and the greater the movement in water the faster the urn will dissolve.
They are also suitable for land burial as moisture in the soil will help the urn to biodegrade.

Water burials are a very dignified way to conduct a #4thceremony – you can cast petals, put last words on our promises notelets. While the simple water urn floats, you will have enough time to say some final words, prayers or thoughts. Many clients find that the simple presence of a body of water after the ceremony can help them to remember that person.
We consider these urns more suitable for deeper water below the low tide line. Please see our page on general guidance for ceremonies or river or the sea.
Finally, it is sensible idea to record where you conducted the ceremony for future generations, if you are on a boat the skipper will be able to tell you your eastings and northings.
