Royal Navy Committal Urn:  made in England by hand to the exact standard specified by the Ministry of Defence for the sea committal of military personnel.

These wooden urns are individually handmade in Devon, England.

Dimensions: L – 32cm, D – 23cm, H – 24cm

They have a simple finish in line with the specification, the lid is screwed into place to provide a more secure impact on contact with the water. They have holes and a heavy weight to ensure faster submersion.

NOTE: The MoD have recently changed the specification, we have been in discussion with them and are now able to make the new specification. If you are in possession of the new specification, you will note that the image of our urn has less holes on the top (and bottom) however the design has been updated to reflect the new specification.

These urns are now made to order and the lead time for these urns is currently ten to twelve weeks. If one is required urgently please let us know and we will do our best.

They are made to the current Ministry of Defence specification. However the the Royal are unable to endorse them.

The service provided by Scattering Ashes is impeccable. I ordered the urn on one day and it had arrived before I’d had a chance to look at the confirmation email. It is sturdy and well made and meets the exact requirements for a Royal Navy committal, without me having to specify measurements, numbers of holes, weight etc. I also purchased a certificate to complete with the details of the committal ceremony, who was there, location etc, which I thought was a nice touch to add. Super happy with this purchase. It means I am doing my Dad proud.
