Handmade Jewellery Made in Devon. We’ve found an amazing jeweller right here in Devon. Fee has been making fantastic jewellery for years and has now produced an exclusive range for us here at Scattering Ashes. Not only does she make beautiful jewellery but she also teaches jewellery making too so she really knows her stuff!
Fee can make designs in Silver and Gold, she can also set ashes into coloured stones that can then be set into rings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, lockets, bangles, key-fobs, earrings…the list is as long as your imagination!
Fiona has been working as a Metalsmith since graduating from Sheffield Polytechnic in 1987 with a BA (Hons) in three dimensional design specialising in silversmithing and jewellery.
She collected beach finds since a little girl living in Devon and this has influenced her work today, often using these finds either for mold making and casting, or for incorporating shells and in particular sea glass into my jewellery. She’s fascinated by the weathering process sea glass has undergone after decades of being pounded by the sea, the smoothness and the frosted look gained, and the recycling of our pollution!
About 10 years ago she took up surfing which has further influenced her work and has seen first-hand what pollution is doing to our seas, this has encourage her to use as much recycled materials as she can.
Fiona enjoys the outdoor life and the countryside and coast line that Devon offers, this is often reflected in her work. She spends a lot of time searching beaches for shells and sea glass, and photographing beautiful images for sources of inspiration.
Her work often combines precious and non-precious materials, and uses a variety of techniques and materials.
She makes one off individual pieces and commission work.
