Handmade Ceramic Urns by Rob Sollis

Handmade Ceramic Urns by Rob Sollis. Looking for a beautiful, handmade urn to honour a loved one at home? These ceramic urns are designed for display—offering a calming, sculptural presence in your living space. Crafted by acclaimed Devon-based ceramicist Rob Sollis, each piece is hand-thrown, glazed, and finished in his rural studio, resulting in a truly unique work of art.

Designed by a Celebrated British Artist

Rob Sollis has worked with clay for over 20 years. His journey began in fine art, but he quickly found his voice in ceramics. He honed his skills at renowned studios, exhibited his work across the UK, and even contributed to major film projects. While we can’t name the film directly, fans of bold, atmospheric science fiction may spot the inspiration behind his distinctive sculptural style.

However, Rob’s urns are not props—they are personal. Every piece is hand-thrown on the wheel and shaped with care. There’s no batch production, no mass casting. Just one artist, working quietly in his Devon studio, transforming raw clay into elegant forms designed to hold deep meaning.

Inspired by Devon’s Coast and Craft Traditions

Rob’s studio is set in the heart of Devon, and that landscape deeply shapes his work. The soft, earthy glazes reflect the tones of sea-worn pebbles, while the smooth, sculptural lines bring quiet strength and stillness to any room. These urns are not hidden away—they’re designed to be seen, touched, and cherished.

Each urn is individually thrown on the wheel using traditional methods. There’s no mould, no batch production—just one artist, one piece at a time. That means no two urns are ever the same.

Three Elegant Sizes to Suit Your Needs

Rob’s urns are available in three sizes, allowing you to choose the right fit for your space or ceremony:

• Standard (42cm height) – Suitable for a full set of adult ashes
