The popular seaside town of Eastbourne, with its pier and long seaside promenade offers a suitable location for our farewells for people who have had links with the south coast.
The maritime port of Newhaven is also close by, having played a major role as a port during the Second World War, especially during the Dieppe Raid in 1942.
Newhaven is situated on the River Ouse which leads to the ancient town of Lewes.
