Very sad to say, I have had appalling experience with trying to get hold of anyone regarding a booking for scattering the ashes of my late father. I completed the form on 10th of October, made a number of phone calls, more emails, listened to the answerphone, wrote emails to the captains and to date still no response. Kindly, have the curtesy to replying back, even to say you are unable to assist etc.,

I am sorry to hear this Covid has really caused a problem: In a normal year the boat companies can comfortably handle the number of requests. However this year there has been a double problem: Firstly lockdown meant families had to wait until after lockdown to scatter as such there was a waiting list to get through, the bigger problem was that families who would normally take ashes back to Indian needed to use facilities in the UK, both combined effectively treble demand over certain period causing huge bottle neck which in turn created more calls etc.
Nether the less I apologise for the service you have received from us and/or the boat company. We try to call everyone back the same day.

Very similar experience ! – I have made several calls , left messages and completed the on line request form a couple of time and still waiting after several weeks for a response. Appreciate there are disruptions with Covid but its important we are contacted so we can make necessary arrangements with in good time. In my case I have family who are abroad and so we need to firm up on a date for the scattering of my dads ashes before they can book tickets to come to the UK. I have no doubt that once everything is confirmed that the day will be excellent…its just the confirmation of the booking day and time that seems to be letting the boat company down.

I understand Raj that must be very frustrating, just to make clear, these are the aspects handled by the boat company and not Scattering Ashes.
          Kind regards

Having read all the marvellous reviews and on personal recommendation from a friend who had actually used this service we decided to go with Fiona.
Just as the reviews had indicated, we found the service from Fiona and the crew absolutely first class and even better than we had imagined.
All the arrangements and the scattering of our dear brother’s ashes were extremely dignified and gave him the kind of send off he deserved, all thanks to the hard work and cooperation of Fiona and her very able team.
On behalf of the entire Joshi family I would like to pass on our sincere thanks for a very special day in our lives which will remain engraved in our memories eternally.

We booked a river cruise and although it was cancelled many times due to river levels Fiona was in constant conversation and was very accommodating with alternative dates.

The ceremony was beautifully done with the lovely touch of shabads (hymns). Everyone was made to feel comfortable and at ease during the cruise.

I would whole heartedly recommend this service

We used Bancroft Cruisers to scatter my partner’s mother’s ashes, and I would heartily recommend them for this service.
The staff, in particular Fiona, were extremely friendly, and very knowledgeable on traditional Sikh ceremonies appropriate for a scattering.
The music and hymns provided via the sound system were very fitting, and they made sure to explain the hymns chosen to those of the group who aren’t Sikh, so they could appreciate the ceremony properly.
Refreshments were provided, including homemade spiced tea, which was lovely. The staff had even made a small diya for the ceremony, as it was also Diwali when we did the scattering. This extra touch was extremely appreciated.
The boat cruise was great too – we went down the river to a location just outside of Stratford, and the route was very scenic (even if the weather was a bit gloomy!). The spot at which we scattered the ashes was very tranquil, and the side of the river could be reached via footpath, if we wanted to visit the site again on foot.
Thank you Fiona and Co. My partner sends her well wishes.

      Sikh Ashes Scattering Ceremony
We booked the Sikh ceremony to scatter our dads ashes on 30th August 2020 and it was the best decision we made.
We were allowed 16 people due to Covid -19 which was enough for the main family and grandchildren to attend. Weirdly enough with dad we have always been 17 so when Fiona informed us of the 16 rule I thought for a minute it means one less – but this was of course with dad. He was definitely there with us.
We were really anxious about the whole thing as usually if it wasn’t the current circumstances we would go to India, but we have to say it was the best decision we ever made.
Fiona was absolutely fantastic from booking the initial date to the ceremony and we can’t thank her enough. She thought of every little detail, the Kirtan, Ardas – the scented sticks (toof). The crew on the day were amazing not rushing, everything was really calm and peaceful and just how we planned it for dad. The grandchildren all got involved in the ceremony and we took our own (environment friendly) balloons with us for them them to let go of. Fiona had already kindly printed off little labels with the Kanda sign on them for the children to all write their messages. It was a beautiful day and as the water urn touched the water the sun came out. We also threw flowers into the water.
We arranged to have the refreshments too and we have to say Fiona masala Tea was just amazing. Our dad loved his Indian tea and we all raised our cups to our dad.
Thank you so much Fiona and your Team for giving dad such a smooth, peaceful and memorable final journey.

Fiona went out her way and sorted out everything and thought of little things to make it personnel .

The grandchildren were very happy to be included in the ceremony . The whole event was so calm and peaceful . Fiona did not rush us at all she gave us time to say our good byes . Can’t thank you enough .

We chose to book this boat for a Hindu Scattering of the Ashes ceremony, for my father.
I cannot express my thanks to Fiona and the two gentlemen for their kindness and hospitality. The service they provided was exceptional and the boat was above and beyond our expectations!!
We were allowed to perform our ceremony peacefully and the setting was absolutely beautiful.
I was able to communicate with Lana easily through email and she answered all my queries with professionalism and speed.
The boat accomadated our family of 27 people easily and the children were also very welcomed by Fiona. Fiona had a couple of balloons which she let the children write a farewell message on, and they then released these at the end of the boat trip, i thought that this was such a nice touch!!
Once again cannot fault Fiona and her team, easily and definately a 5 star service.

I wish to give my heart-felt thanks to Scattering Ashes (Stratford on Avon) for their wonderful service. From the initial communication right through to the end of the ceremony, we were made to feel at ease especially as such events are performed with a heavy heart. Fiona was professional throughout and I know my mum would be looking down and pleased with the send off.

I booked this boat for Scattering my Dad’s Ashes Hindu Ceremony. Fiona and Toby was so helpful and made us feel very welcome. The boat trip was warm and comfortable, as we had x3 children with us, which she provided something for them to be occupied with. Scattering the Ashes was a beautiful ceremony and the balloons was a lovely gesture from Fiona. Also after the ceremony tea/coffee + biscuits was provided, which was lovely. Thank you so much for your help and your patients with us, we really appreciated it. Thank you.

      Sikh Ashes Scattering Ceremony
I booked this boat for the Sikh Ashes Scattering Ceremony, we took my father’s ashes and all my family went today, I just want to thank Fiona for her excellent customer service, I have had a lot of communication with Fiona, from the time I booked this to the end of the actual ceremony. Fiona took excellent care of us. She was so helpful, caring and very sensitive too. She made a very difficult and sad day a lot more bearable. I would definitely recommend this boat cruise to everyone as I can’t thank Fiona enough for her hospitality and how she made our family feel so welcome on the boat, Fiona really went out of her way to help me and nothing was impossible, I really appreciated that. The Punjabi prayer music that was on in the background was a lovely touch too. Thank you so much Fiona x
