Hindu Priest – Ashes Water Ceremony – Greater London

Hindu Priest for Ashes Water Ceremony

Om Namah Shivay – Om Namah Shivay – Om Namah Shivay

A traditional Sanatan (Hindu) ashes ceremony guided by an experienced Hindu priest

If you are a Sanatan (Hindu) family seeking a priest to carry out the sacred Asti Visarjan ritual — the immersion of ashes in flowing water — we are able to support you with care, experience, and deep respect for tradition.

We work in partnership with Rajubhai Pandya, a highly experienced Hindu priest who is able to conduct Asti Visarjan ceremonies across the Greater London area, including on private boat journeys along the River Thames.

Your Hindu Priest: Rajubhai Pandya

Pandit Rajubhai Pandya has over 25 years’ experience, working strictly in accordance with Vedic scriptures and long-established Sanatan Dharma practices.

During the ceremony, he will:

  • Chant mantras and shlokas in Sanskrit

  • Clearly explain their meaning in English, so families understand each stage

  • Guide the ceremony with sensitivity, calmness, and spiritual authority

He is associated with Vishwa Sanatan Dharma Mandir, located at 132–134 Whitehorse Road, Croydon, Surrey, and is widely respected within the local Hindu community.

Asti Visarjan on the River Thames

Panditji will accompany you and your family on our private boat journeys on the River Thames, carrying out the Vedic puja as part of the Asti Visarjan ceremony.

Locations include:

  • Windsor

  • Kingston upon Thames

  • Central London

Flowing water holds deep spiritual significance in Hindu tradition, symbolising purification, release, and the onward journey of the soul. The calm, dignified setting of the river allows families time for prayer, reflection, and remembrance.

Panditji can also advise on auspicious timings (muhurat) to ensure the ceremony is performed at the most appropriate moment.

Meaning of the Asti Visarjan Ceremony

Within Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism), prayers such as “Om Shanti” or
“Atma ko sadgati prapt ho” (May the soul attain liberation) are offered.

Sadgati refers to salvation or release — freedom from the cycle of birth and death (samsara). Through prayer and ritual, we ask that the soul may attain a higher state and ultimately reach Moksha.

During the ceremony:

  • Mantras are chanted

  • Hymns are sung

  • The family is gently guided to scatter the ashes into flowing water

Asti Visarjan forms part of the final rite in the traditional 16 samskaras, marking the completion of life’s sacred journey.
